Beethoven & Bernstein

Experience an unforgettable evening of music and storytelling with The Florida Orchestra's presentation of Beethoven & Bernstein. Under the baton of conductor Michael Francis, the program features Beethoven's Choral Fantasy, an uplifting fusion of piano, orchestra, and choir that hints at the famous Ode to Joy theme. This masterpiece showcases the talents of pianist Jeewon Park and soprano Diana Newman, alongside The Master Chorale of Tampa Bay and the Lumina Youth Choir.

The concert also includes Leonard Bernstein's deeply moving Symphony No. 3, "Kaddish," featuring text by Holocaust survivor Samuel Pisar. In this rare performance, special narration will be provided by his widow, Judith Pisar, and daughter, Leah Pisar, adding a profound personal dimension to the piece. This collaboration with the Florida Holocaust Museum offers a powerful reflection on life, loss, and resilience, making for an evening that promises to be both inspiring and thought-provoking.
